The only town where the foreigners are the majority
L’Alfàs del Pi has 21,046 residents and 10,614 of them hold a foreign passport: 50.4 %, according to the INE Annual Population Census at 1 January 2025. Nowhere else around here crosses the halfway line.
1,973 of them are British, the largest single nationality on the current register. But the town’s real peculiarity is Norwegian: l’Alfàs has a Norwegian school and a Norwegian consulate, and in the last detailed breakdown available by nationality — the Valencian regional government’s register figures for 1 January 2022, not the INE ones — there were 1,941 Norwegians and 1,551 Dutch residents. Those national breakdowns stopped being published by municipality after that, so the 2022 figure is the last solid one and it should be read as an order of magnitude, not as today’s number.
What that means for a business in Albir: English is not a nice extra, it is the working language. And a Norwegian or Dutch customer searching in their own language will find you if your listing is set up properly, because there is far less competition in those searches than in the Spanish ones.

Albir in three numbers
None of them is our opinion. INE, Annual Population Census, 1 January 2025.
What we do differently in Albir
We build the Google listing to be read in English first, because that is the language most of your customers will search in, and we keep the Spanish version equally correct rather than as an afterthought.
For businesses whose customers are mainly Norwegian or Dutch, it is worth adding those languages properly — with a translator, not with a machine. Tell us before we start and we will price it in.
And the rest is the same as everywhere: listing first, website second, advertising when there is somewhere decent to send the clicks.
Two centres, one municipality
L’Alfàs del Pi sits inland and Albir is on the coast, and they behave like different towns. Albir is the promenade, the restaurants and the businesses that live on people walking past. L’Alfàs is where a lot of the residents actually live, and where somebody looks up a dentist, a garage or a builder from home.
People search for both names, and often for neither: they search for the service plus «Albir» or plus nothing at all, standing in the street. The listing has to be built so it appears for the whole municipality and not only for the address on the door.
Health, sport and the reason people come all year
Unlike most of this coast, l’Alfàs does not empty in October. A large part of the foreign population lives here permanently, and that changes what a business should be saying in November: not «we are open for the summer», but «we are the one you call when the tap goes».
It also changes the language question. With more than half the municipality holding a foreign passport, English is the working language of a lot of businesses here, and for some trades Norwegian or Dutch is worth adding properly — with a translator, not with a machine. We will tell you honestly whether the volume in your trade justifies it.

Frequently asked questions about Albir
Is Albir the same as l'Alfàs del Pi?
Albir is the coastal part of the municipality of l’Alfàs del Pi. People search for both names and the listing is built to be found under either.
Should my website be in Norwegian or Dutch too?
Sometimes, and more often here than anywhere else on this coast. It depends on your trade. We would rather tell you the volume does not justify it than sell you three languages by default.
Does it go quiet in winter?
Less than in the rest of the comarca, because a large part of the population is resident rather than seasonal. That is an argument for keeping the listing alive all year, not for pausing it.
Should my website be in Norwegian too?
Sometimes it is worth it, and more often in Albir than anywhere else on this coast. It depends on your trade. We will tell you honestly whether the volume justifies it rather than sell you three languages by default.
Is Albir the same as l’Alfàs del Pi?

How much does it cost?
From 150 € + VAT a month for the Profile pack. Websites separate, a one-off from 600 €.
Do you work in English?
Yes, from the first message to the monthly report. L’Alfàs is the only town of the eight where foreign nationals are the majority, so two languages is the floor, not a bonus. Spanish and English we write ourselves; anything else goes through a translator, not an automatic tool.
Is there a minimum term?
No, on any of the four packs. Month by month.
